INLAY, ONLAY AND OVERLAY
INLAY, ONLAY AND OVERLAY
These are prosthetic replacements which are designed in the laboratory. Unlike regular fillings which are modelled in the mouth, this type of prosthetic replacements are considered a method which spares the teeth because very little of the tooth tissue is grinded. The replacements are much stronger than the fillings and they are made of composite, ceramics or gold.
“The replacements are much stronger than the fillings and they are made of composite, ceramics or gold.”
The difference between the inlay, onlay and overlay is only in the volume of tooth preparation. The inlay requires the least and the overlay most of the grinding.
